NOLA, Covers, and other...

It has been a few months since I have blogged. I have been busy, and every time I tried to get my butt over here more things came up. I do have more covers to add to my cover art page, but they probably won't be up today. I will try to get them up near the end of the week.

Christmas went pretty well. I got a crock pot from my mom and I have been going crazy cooking in it.  My grandma and grandpa in Florida bought me a HUGE toaster oven that has a rotisserie in it. So now not having a working oven may not be so bad. I just have to figure out how to use the toaster....

Went to New Orleans for the Shadowfever signing. Enjoyed the book a lot. If you haven't read the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, now would be a great time since you no longer have to wait on any of the story. All five books are available! Although, New Orleans itself kicked my arse. The plane kept circling the airport over NOLA and I was about to lose it if we didn't land. First night there I had half a hurricane and was singing Karaoke. After I said I would not do it and if I went on stage with them I would NOT hold the mic. I was holding the blasted mic. And peeps videoed it. *siiiiiiiiigh* We did sing a Fever related song: "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

I tore my feet up with blisters during the scavenger hunt, then had to do a ghost/vamp tour which didn't help. The blister on the ball of my foot was the size of a dime. It hurt. My legs were sore from walking, but I kept on trooping. Monday we went on a Voodoo/Cemetery tour. My feet were killing me, I was tired, and the tour was way too long and it was really warm in the cemetery. A group of us left early because the guide was talking about everything but Voodoo and we still had to get back to the hotel, eat something, and go to the signing to collect our books and see Karen and the gang. Yeah, I totally tripped over a grate on the sidewalk and nearly ate pavement. Luckily I didn't break the skin, though my hands and knees and calves are STILL bruised from it. I think my pride hurt the most though...

But over all I had a great trip. I always love hanging with the Moning Maniacs. They are crazy!!!! But I love them. There's lots of pics on facebook (too many of my shame. See...no more drinking for me, first I tubthump with Eric Etebari and now I sing Bad Moon Rising for a crowd. NooOo!)

I am happy to be home though. My sister said Bagheera sat on the table in front of the window in the front room and looked out for the first three days, waiting on me to come home. That broke my heart. I felt so bad leaving her before, and that just tore me up. :(

Victoria, I am so glad you and the other Maniacs had such a nice time in New Orleans. I can promise you that I will not miss another event, darn it! I wish I had a FB account just so I could see your pictures :D I look forward to seeing your new book covers when you get them posted.

Cheers!
